Notion Product of January: Notion Plus

First of all, I said that I would publish it in January, but I did not. I couldn't notify you so as not to send spam e-mails. I am sad. So why didn't I post? I am a member of Komunite.com.tr, the Turkey partner of MicroAcquire. I have been a member since its inception. I am one of the first members. I've been a member for over a year. And when I held a meeting about this product there, they realized the potential in the creation and said that if I put a little more effort into it, I could get better results. So they gave me powerful feedback. So I apologize for not sharing it even though I said I would share it with you. I got vital feedback.

I made the website with Notion. But with this product, that wouldn't happen. So I replaced it with a better landing.

I designed 200 components. They told me to increase this number to 500. And it was very difficult to do. Especially after recent events!

I Lost a Close Relative

I lost a very close relative to a heart attack. This was the first thing that kept me from focusing on my work. I had to go to the funeral. I saw people crying there. The person feels bad. That's why I couldn't devote enough time to the product. But in this process, I still made an effort to finish the product.

Earthquake in Turkey

On February 6, 2023, there was an earthquake covering 10 provinces centered in Kahramanmaraş in Turkey. A city has literally disappeared. There are 43 thousand of deaths in total. Some of my friends were injured. We lost friends of my friends. Our psychology as a whole country has deteriorated.

Earthquakes continue to happen. There hasn't been a major earthquake where I live. But there is still a risk. Experts have been talking about the great Istanbul earthquake for a long time. It hasn't happened yet. But it was going to be a huge earthquake. There could be tsunamis as big as 15 meters. Now the waters have receded in Istanbul. The country is on alert. Thousands of people were left homeless. Fundraising events are held everywhere. In fact, it was the biggest YouTube joint broadcast in Turkey. Channels with millions of subscribers broadcast non-stop for 100 hours. (Joined the broadcast on other channels with the limits of YouTube.) Many scientists and experts came to the publication.

In this process, like everyone else, I was very depressed. We felt guilty for the whole country. We were embarrassed to even wear socks because of the cold people there. But experts said these were normal reactions.

I also had to take a break from my work. Instead, I struggled with how I could be useful. An independent software team was established and they developed earthquake software solutions such as afetharita.com and afet.org. I also made a website called EarthquakeWidget. Then I developed a project called DepremTek. There was a time when the independent earthquake software team had a problem. They were stuck at the rate limit of artificial intelligence. I tried to develop an algorithm for parsing addresses in a text for 1 day without the need for artificial intelligence. But I couldn't. But the team succeeded. Thank god!

After all this turmoil, believe me, I didn't want to do anything. I was literally lazy. Actually, I was supposed to publish the product last week. But I couldn't focus at all. Komunite.com.tr has meetings every week. I didn't have the face to go to that meeting. I was embarrassed because I was lazy and I finished the product after a week of hard work.

I plan to release this product on March 1, 2023. :) But I do not promise. This would actually be the product of February. Another Notion product. An info product. An info product that explains how you can make a website with Notion. I will tweet the development process. You get the news there.

I was using a local hosting company and did not renew the hosting. I'll move it to Vercel sometime when I'm available. I also received a comment suggesting that I redesign the website, but… It's too early yet.

I activated the Instagram account. I share Turkish content. It's about my plan B mid-this year and why I activated it. Plan A Notion products. Nobody knows plan B. :) Surprise. ;)

I also renewed the Patreon account for Girisimzel.com. I will share Turkish content. But if you want (I don't know until you tell me. Reply to this e-mail.) I can publish it in English.

Finally, I updated the Telegram channel a bit.

My YouTube Channel

After the earthquakes, I will activate the channel small, inspired by the big joint YouTube broadcast. And a little bit to educate people in my country. And because this could fuel my plan B.

Now I will share the books I read by making videos. I bought a new book. Atomic Habits. I will make a video of all of them. But it will be the first video: Rich Dad Poor Dad book. :)

Happy Ending

My psyche started to improve. I'm still having productivity issues right now and I'm very distracted, but rest assured I'll make an effort to fix it.
