The Biggest Thing In My Life Is Being Sued :)
I was sued for $10,000. I'm trying to survive. 🙋♂️
What did I do this week? Before I tell you this, I want to tell you the most significant thing in my life. Although I still plan to take time to think, it pops into my mind during the day and prevents me from working.
A Tragicomic Sue Story
Yes, I've been sued. And because of content that hasn't existed for about 2 years. It used to be on the air for 7 months, but then it was deleted. Now I've been sued for nonexistent content. I will go to court in 100 days. It's a tragicomic story.
I had a website called Girisimzel.com. The purpose of this site was to curate entrepreneurship. I was curating entrepreneurship movies, TV series, documentaries, podcasts, books, and YouTube channels. I did this first in Turkey, then abroad, then again in Turkey. I could even count things that most people wouldn't consider entrepreneurship as entrepreneurship. Now, I will not name names directly due to the lawsuit, but I also shared a Turkish movie on the entrepreneurship category on the website.
The movie was YouTube embed. I did not upload it to my YouTube channel and since the embed feature is open, I added it to my website. Then 7 months later, the site was closed because I couldn't pay the hosting fee for my website. (Since I haven't prepared my defense text yet, the reason for the closure or removal of the content here may be wrong.) After one and a half years, the police came to my house. The category of this Turkish movie is actually a comedy. I went and gave my statement, but then when I thought everything was resolved, the mediator called and said that I will be sued for 10 thousand dollars. I said I can't pay for it. As I am not working a full-time job in the name of entrepreneurship, I cannot pay. My monthly income may even be $60 in dollar terms. I could go to jail if I can't pay, but I've decided to appeal. This reason is actually related to my police relative. We went to the lawyer he knew, explained the situation, and decided to appeal.
Today I say to myself. I wish I had talked to the mediator that day as I told you. But my police relative said, there's no point in talking if they're going to sue anyway. It wasn't exactly like that, but it was something like that. I didn't take phone calls either. Then a lawsuit was filed.
So I am truly innocent. If you can use the embed feature on YouTube, turn that feature off. Why should I be sued? This thing can close. When the Embed feature is turned off, it cannot be viewed on the website. I mean, it's such a silly thing. Also, I was never warned. I did not receive an email asking me to remove the content. If they said remove it, I would remove it. Why didn't they say? Also, I used another YouTube video of the same company in another project and they emailed me and said to remove it. I removed the content. There is evidence of this. But I do not understand. Unfortunately, I cannot open all my thoughts transparently. I'll try to share it openly the day I get out of this case.
By the way, I just found out 2 days ago that I don't have a lawyer. I thought I had a lawyer because of a communication problem I was somewhat comfortable. I thought a friend of my police relative was going to advocate for me. It wasn't. We just talked. Talking doesn't mean getting ideas. I learned this after 1 month. This situation gave me an extra blow. I'm dealing with this case among, all my work. I'm trying to do my things but I can't focus. My days are spent listening to funny videos and writing code. I get depressed as soon as I turn off the video. I'm sad.
I will not say anything extra about Turkey's justice system. Go research Turkish law. But this still scares me. The worst-case scenario is prison. Research our legal system. I'm not saying anything else. I wouldn't know, that makes more sense.
Content Bombardment
After reading the 10X Rule, I realized that I absolutely had to produce content for my products to reach more people. Also, Undercover Billionaire has a hand in this. I was impressed with Grant Cardone because he started his career at 25. Me too 25 years old. That's impressive.
I wanted to create content for Twitter in 7 categories for 365 days. In the 1st category, I created 365 days of content in the "marketing and sales" category. But I could not achieve this stability in other categories. I couldn't find the content idea. I made a system that automatically shares content. It would work with Zapier. However, the project was ruined when Zapier made Twitter automation for a fee. Currently, 1 dollar is 21,08₺ in Turkey. I can't afford a $19 package. When I wanted to code, bugs came out and I couldn't solve it. (I asked the bug on Stackoverflow: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/76376769/twitter-api-tweeting-issue-oauth-nonce-and-oauth-timestamp-php)
I was going to post content on my blog. In addition, my content would be published on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr, Blogspot, and WordPress. I narrowed it down as there are too many platforms. The only main blog will be my own blog. But blog content is very hard to find. The hardest part is the content type is hard to find.
My blog covered micro saas content. But that was very niche. I also expanded the category to entrepreneurship and micro-saas. It's better now but not enough. Should my blog content be UZI or AWP? So should I share content often or should I post slow content and share strong content? I'm still undecided.
I also have a hard time finding blog content ideas because I want to create a brand. Accordingly, I cannot generate random content. But I can't reach people while I'm not producing content. I was in a dilemma.
I plan to turn blog content into YouTube videos and share them. I'm thinking of splitting that YouTube video into parts and sharing it in vertical format.
I was thinking about this in both Turkish and English, but I'm already in a very difficult workforce. This results in me throwing TR content into the background. Why? Because 1 dollar is 21 TL. That means I work 21 times harder.
Above all, I'm not just going to produce content. I will also start up a business. It's very confusing what to do in what time frame. It is very sad that I cannot reach the Twitter content I trust the most due to automation and inflation.
Digital Nomad
I want to travel. But I can't go to the rental house. I still live with my family. Currently, the minimum wage in Turkey is 8503TL. And the rental house fee is around 7000TL-20000TL. The houses worth 7000TL are the worst ones. Damp houses in the basement. I can't take care of myself. I have not own a home. That's why I want to travel but I don't even have money to travel. I have to go digital first, then I'm a nomad.
To Do Sport
I am doing sports. I bought the dumbbell set. I haven't eaten white bread for 5 months, I don't consume carbonitrate. I have a belly. I lost 10 kilos, but I still can't get rid of my belly. I don't have money to go to the gym. I don't have the money to eat regularly. I have to eat meat, but I have no money to eat. I eat poorly, but I try to eat well as much as I can. But not enough.
I set up a side startup called airlinkin.bio to be well-fed, but I couldn't get the effect I wanted.
Notion Plus
I am developing the Notion widget tool. I expect this vehicle to make quite a splash. I want the worst 10 regular paying customers. The minimum package will definitely be $29. 290 dollars per month means 6000₺ in Turkey. At the very least, it means a price that will allow for product development and my health nutrition.
My School Fee
Other than that, I have to pay my tuition fees. I worked for 5 months to pay the tuition fee this year. I had to leave my venture with my friend, and at the end of the job, they gave me very little of what I deserved. But thanks to me, they made a 10 million TL business deal. Not cool. And it's sad. I need $1000 to pay my tuition. Otherwise, I will be expelled from school and do my compulsory military service. I'm not ready yet for my plans.
By the way, my school is in Istanbul and I couldn't find a rental house due to the high rents in Istanbul. That's why I couldn't attend the school I paid for this year.
Extra Income Models
It is not enough to generate income by making products. Because the product is not finished yet and it is not clear when it will be finished. I am literally poor. But I'm not stupid. I need to earn enough income to eat healthy. 8,506TL per month so that I can get a minimum. In other words, it is 403 dollars with an instant exchange rate. Let's round it up to $450. Because it is necessary to take into account the transfer fees. I haven't added taxes yet. 40% tax is taken in Turkey. It could even be more.
I had unpublished the ads on my blog but put them back on the air. But I still earn 1-3₺ per day, that is, 0.047 dollars per day. Not enough at all. So I don't want to hope for Google Adsense. I want to hope on Patreon instead.
Patreon
I made 3 packs on Patreon for $8, $14, and $25. If I reach about 60 supporters, I will be able to eat healthily and reach the budget to survive in Turkey. That's why I care so much about Patreon.
What content will be on Patreon?
1. I will share my brainstorms and experiments about my new projects there. Sometimes I have small and big R&D studies. I will share their results and processes. For example, if I make a small and viral game, I think if I can make money from it. I can share this with you.
2. I can compile and share some of my research with you. For example, I am currently researching professions that artificial intelligence cannot do. You can see this article there. Or I'm doing scientific research and I can share them there.
3. When I became a Digital Nomad, I plan to share photos and videos that are only for Patreon members.
As an extra:
1. You will be a reference in my projects. I use your names in the examples within the project.
2. Thank you by stating your name in the newsletter.
Finally:
If you think of anything, let me know and I'll add it to Patreon.
Please support us on Patreon. I also need money for lawyers and experts.
Finally, I want to develop a product. I have a little dream. Let me develop software and people pay for it every month. :)
